
How to get to Trysil – by plane, rental car, bus, train or your own car
✈️ By plane to Oslo Airport Gardermoen (OSL)
Oslo Airport is the most common point of entry for Trysil travelers. There are direct flights from a number of major European cities.
Continue to Trysil from Gardermoen:
Bus: Trysilekspressen runs several daily departures during the winter season. Travel time approx. 3.5 hours.
Car rental: BNO Travel offers car rental with pick-up at the airport – driving time to Trysil approx. 2 hours.
✈️ By plane to Scandinavian Mountains Airport (SCR)
Scandinavian Mountains Airport is located just 45 minutes from Trysil and has seasonal departures from several European cities.
Continue to Trysil from SCR:
Bus: Shuttle bus to Trysil is offered for arrivals during the winter season.

🚆🚍 Travel from city to city – by train, bus or car
From Stockholm
By car: Approx. 5.5-6 hours via E18 and national road 62.
Train and bus: Take the train to Karlstad or Hamar, then bus to Trysil. Trains to Hamar go via Oslo. Total travel time: 6-7 hours.
Bus: Flixbus to Oslo, then Trysilekspressen.
From Gothenburg
- Train: Train to Oslo (approx. 4 hours), then train to Hamar and bus to Trysil.
- Bus: Flixbus or Vy to Oslo, then Trysilekspressen.
- By car: Approx. 6-6.5 hours via E6 and E18 towards Elverum.
From Helsinki
- Train and ferry: Take a ferry to Stockholm or Turku, train to Oslo via Karlstad and bus to Trysil.
- Bus: Combination of ferry + long-distance bus to Oslo, then Trysilekspressen.
- By car: Approx. 12-13 hours via Stockholm and onwards as above.
From Køenhavn
Trains: Train to Gothenburg, on to Oslo, then train to Hamar and bus to Trysil.
Bus: Long-distance bus to Oslo, further with Trysilekspressen.
By car: Approx. 9-10 hours via the Øresund Bridge and Gothenburg-Oslo.
From Fredrikshavn (ferry from Denmark)
- Train: Train from Frederikshavn to Oslo via Gothenburg, then on to Trysil by bus or train/bus combination.
- Bus: Long-distance bus via Oslo.
- Car: Approx. 7-7.5 hours.
From Kiel (ferry from Germany)
Train: Train to Copenhagen or Gothenburg, on to Oslo, then Hamar and bus to Trysil.
Bus: Long-distance lines via Denmark and Sweden to Oslo, then Trysilekspressen.
By car: Approx. 12-13 hours via Denmark and into Norway via Svinesund.
