Trysil Turistsenter is the heart of Trysilfjellet – a popular destination for alpinists, families and adventure seekers all year round. Located just 15 minutes from the center of Trysil, the tourist center has quick ground-to-base access to lifts, a wide range of accommodation, restaurants and convenient facilities such as a ski bus and shops.
Facts about Trysil and Trysilfjellet:
Trysil municipality has around 6,000 inhabitants, but when the tourist season starts, the mountain is filled with more than 6,500 cabins and apartments – mainly in and around Trysilfjellet. This makes it one of Norway’s largest year-round destinations: in winter for skiing, in summer for cycling, hiking and wilderness experiences.
With Trysil Turistsenter as your base, you’ll be close to a wide range of activities, easy transportation and varied dining and shopping options. Winter activities
- Winter here is a breeze for young and old. Trysil Turistsenter offers direct access to 70 km of groomed alpine trails, with slopes for beginners, family-friendly areas and challenges for experienced skiers. Alpine schools and children’s areas ensure safe and fun learning, and ski buses run regularly between the tourist center and Trysil town center.
- In addition to alpine skiing and snowboarding, you have access to over 100 km of cross-country ski trails right on your doorstep, as well as snowshoeing, dog sledding, sledding and ice fishing. After an active day, a diverse selection of restaurants awaits you – from casual après-ski places to family restaurants with warm dishes and a cozy atmosphere.
Summer activities
- When the snow melts, the mountain is transformed into a green playground. Trysil Bike Arena, with challenging downhill and trail biking, starts directly at the tourist center. Rent mountain bikes or electric bikes and explore a network of varied trails.
- Other summer activities include canoeing and kayaking on rivers and lakes, golf at Trysil-Knut Arena, fishing, zipline, climbing park and family-friendly hiking trails in forests and fields. The tourist center serves as a gathering place – with cafés, rental shops and services for all types of outdoor experiences.
Ski bus and shopping in Trysil town center
- The ski bus runs frequently between Trysil Turistsenter and Trysil town center in winter and summer – a fast and efficient way to get around. In the town center you’ll find a wealth of shops selling sports equipment, souvenirs, clothes and local food. The small but comprehensive shopping center has everything you need for daily comfort and activities, and the cozy shops offer unique, local goods.
